Frequently Asked Questions
- So what is this thing anyway?
Part love letter and part cultural repository, the Clint Ritchie Archive is my way of documenting Clint Ritchie’s outstanding contribution to the daytime serial
- Why Now?
The idea to start this archive has been in the back of my head for years. With Clint’s very untimely death, my friend Sera and I were inspired to try and create a space where other fans could relive the glory days of One Life to Live. Recently there was a poll over at We Love Soaps which ranked Clint & Viki the #38 Greatest Soap Couple of all time. Needless to say we wanted to call for a recount but then it dawned on me that those voting were probably unaware of the complexity of the Viki & Clint love story. So I set about converting my battered VHS collection and adding the videos to materials provided by other fans for upload on Youtube. The response to those clips was overwhelming and that’s when the librarian in me got to thinking. What good is all this information is fans can’t share it? And so the archive was born!
- How long have you been a Clint fan?
It feels like practically my whole life but I actively stated watching One Life to Live in 1986 at the tender age of 10 years old. From Nikki Smith to the Old West to Eterna, I was, and remain, a ride or die Clint fangirl. I truly believe that Clint Ritchie was never given his due as a nuanced actor, even by some of his colleagues (I’m looking at you Erika Slezak!) and I how the clips provided on this site showcase how many dimensions he brought to his character.
- Do you accept submissions?
Absolutely! I am happy to give credit and link back to your site as well. The point of this archive is to fully represent Clint Ritchie’s career and any materials aimed at that goal are more than appreciated!
